Welcome to the IAG Cargo interview process. We appreciate your interest in joining our team. This candidate pack is designed to provide you with essential information about our company and the interview process. Please read this document thoroughly and prepare accordingly for your upcoming interviews.
The Process

Application & Screening
Well you've already got through this stage, so we've got to know each other a little. That may have been through an initial video meeting or telephone call. We're now excited to learn more about you.

Interview & Assessment
You will participate in one or more interviews with our hiring team. These interviews may be conducted in person, by phone, or virtually.
Depending on the role, you may be required to complete online assessments, technical tests, or case studies to evaluate your skills and knowledge.

Offer
If you successfully pass the interview stages, we will extend an formal offer of employment

Referencing and Vetting
Given the nature of our business, and the close proximity you have to the airport and cargo, we do have a security requirement for all employees to undergo a 5 year background and criminality check. For roles that require you to go to airside there may be further requirements to obtain an airside pass. Our friendly recruitment team will support you through the process.

For one day each year, IAG Cargo employees in London have the opportunity to take a paid volunteer day, known as our ‘Day to Make a Difference’. Now in its second year running, the campaign lets us help good causes in need of support, giving back and strengthening our commitment to our local communities – in a way that’s personal, fun, and just as rewarding.

Hybrid Working and shift work
We have a 24/7 operation, which means most of our front-line colleagues are always on site working various shifts.
Our non-operational staff work in a hybrid environment with 3 days in the office for face to face collaboration and 2 days at home.

We typically follow up within a week of your interview. However, this can vary on occasion. Please do ask your interviewer to get a better view of their timescales.

We have a smart business casual dress code here, and would expect the same for an interview. What's important is that you feel comfortable.

Behavioral interview questions ask you to provide specific examples from your past experiences to demonstrate your skills, abilities, and behavior. For example, "Tell me about a time when you had to resolve a conflict at work."

We recommend the STAR method. STAR stands for Situation, Task, Action, and Result. It's a structured way to respond to behavioural questions by describing the specific situation, the task or challenge you faced, the action you took, and the positive result or outcome.

Most of our sites have parking available. You should have received some instructions with your interview invite, but if not please reach out to your hiring contact or our recruitment team.

That's completely up to you. Think about what is important to you. Most questions tend to be about the company culture, team dynamics, the role's responsibilities, and opportunities for growth.

We'd hope you had been able to have this conversation by now, however we appreciated that not everyone feels comfortable discussing it with the manager at the interview stage, so you're welcome to reach out to the recruitment team if you'd like more information.

For non-frontline staff who are full-time, we have a 37.5 hour week. Core hours are 10am-4pm, and you can make up the additional 2 hours either side.

Our standard is 3 days in the office and 2 days from home. This works best for our collaborative culture and is something we highly encourage. If you wish to discuss an alternative, please check with the manager.
