About the role
As the ULD and Logistics Manager, you are responsible for the global management of Iberia’s Unit Load Device (ULD) fleet, supporting both passenger and cargo operations, and contributing to IAG Cargo (IAGC) group ULD provisions. This includes overseeing the distribution and movement of over 8,000 ULDs across a network of approximately 150 stations, ensuring each location maintains optimal stock levels to support operational needs.
Key responsibilities include:
Performance Management & Data Analysis: Use trend analysis and utilisation metrics to identify business opportunities, improve productivity, and reduce costs.
Operational Oversight: Ensure Iberia, Iberia Express, and Level have sufficient ULDs for passenger and cargo transport across their operational airports. Manage the handling equipment fleet for Cargo MAD OPS.
Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with the Network Operations team to enhance customer service and operational performance. Develop strong relationships with the LHR ULD team, cargo, and passenger service teams, and IAGC hubs.
Compliance and Representation: Represent the department up to CET level in matters of performance data, compliance, safety, and security. Act as a key interface with IB/GHA stations, sales teams, and external suppliers.
Third-Party Oversight: Manage relationships with repair partners and consumable suppliers.
Network Collaboration: Support departmental managers with data analysis and performance trends across the Spain, UK, Ireland, and Europe. Share insights and best practices across the IAGC network to enhance punctuality, capacity, and cost efficiency.
What you’ll do
Partner with core business areas to gain a deep understanding of the requirements of ULDs across the IAGC network.
Act as a regional champion for ULDs and manage station stock levels by using analytical insight driven decision making.
Manage a portfolio of regular reports, dashboards, and visualisations.
Structure problems and design and develop numerical models to inform decision making.
Work alongside key stakeholders across the business to answer critical business questions using a variety of analytical tools e.g. Excel, SQL, and Tableau.
Subject matter expert for ULDs when engaging with key stake holders (Passenger Terminals, Cargo duty managers, third party suppliers and commercial teams)
Ensure the highest level of accuracy is maintained in tracking demurrage across the ULD fleet.
Work together with data management and IT teams to resolve data quality issues.
Interface with IT, project teams and peers to ensure new data and changes are delivered for efficient exploitation.

Able to interpret/reconcile complex information including performance data by way of trend/risk analysis and regular performance reporting.

Excellent planning, organisation written, verbal, and communication skills.
Self-starter with ability to work alone and without direction where appropriate.
Able to interface / hold their own when challenged.
Strong influencing, negotiation, and interpersonal skills - is credible and respected.
Well-developed skills in communication to CET level, reasoning & intuitive skills.
The jobholder should be able to resolve conflicting views from the Network up to senior management level through the application of their interpersonal skills, data analytics and is able to clearly communicate the outcome of their decisions.
Good contract, supplier management skills desirable.
Experience
Spanish speaking
Operational management experience
Working with complex data
Has worked in a team or taken part in cross functional projects.
Management of a team in a unionised operational environment desirable.
Excellent use of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Knowledge of the airline’s operational activities (passenger & cargo) including schedules, planning, load control, IAG Cargo Handling Manual, and the role of GHAs
Detailed knowledge of the various ULD types and their technical specifications
Detailed knowledge of the IATA multilateral ULD control system
