About the role
As an integral member of the IAG Cargo Strategy and Transformation Office, as Senior Strategy Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future direction of IAG Cargo. You will lead the development and execution of strategic initiatives that drive business growth, operational excellence, and long-term value creation. Working closely with senior leaders across the business, you will provide insight, challenge, and thought leadership to ensure IAG Cargo remains at the forefront of the industry.
What you’ll do
Partner with the CEO, executive team, and senior leaders to shape, refine, and implement the IAG Cargo strategy
Collaborate with the Finance team to support the annual strategic planning cycle, ensuring departmental strategies align with the broader plan.
Lead high-quality, fast-paced strategic projects and analyses focused on the CEO’s most critical concerns, providing independent, objective reviews and recommendations.
Conduct industry benchmarking, competitor analysis, and market intelligence to guide strategic decision-making.
Lead cross-functional strategic projects on behalf of the CSTO, delivering insights and recommendations to the CET, through to business case development and execution
Identify under-performing areas of the business model and develop evidence-based proposals for turnaround or exit.
Lead scenario planning analysis to prepare the business for market volatility, supply chain disruptions, or macroeconomic shifts
Scope and implement IAG Cargo’s sustainability strategy and plan, working with senior sponsors, subject matter experts and sustainability champions across IAG Cargo and other operating companies
Integrate environmental, social, and governance (ESG) considerations into strategic planning, supporting IAG Cargo’s sustainability goals.
Champion technology innovation to drive improved performance in all areas; such as utilisation of sustainable fuels, and carbon removal technologies
Contribute to the IAG Annual Report and Group Sustainability Disclosure Reporting
Prepare clear, compelling presentations and strategic recommendations for the Executive Team and Board.
Champion innovation by piloting emerging technologies and new business models, fostering a culture of experimentation.
Represent IAG Cargo at industry events and with key external stakeholders to shape the future of air cargo
Provide leadership, coaching, and performance management for direct reports, fostering a high-performing and engaged team.

Proven ability to take identified opportunities to own and drive the business to follow through with decisive action, demonstrating determination and outstanding influencing skills to secure buy-in and deliver results.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Experience in developing and executing business strategies in a complex, matrixed organisation.
Commercial acumen and understanding of the air cargo or logistics sector
High level of integrity, resilience, and adaptability
Ability to work in a changing environment, responding to changing business need
Proven ability to collaboratively and openly work with others to deliver results
Qualifications
Educated to degree level or equivalent experience
Experience in strategy consulting, corporate strategy, or a related field is highly desirable.
Finance acumen / degree / qualification desirable
