About the role
The Constant Climate Specialist serves as the key expert on IAG Cargo's Constant Climate product, offering specialized support to Freight Forwarders and Pharmaceutical shippers in planning and executing high-value, precision time and temperature-controlled cold chain shipments across the IAG Constant Climate network. Internally, this role functions as the regional subject matter expert, providing in-depth product knowledge and guidance to regional sales teams and customers on all aspects of the Constant Climate product.
- To support delivery of robust and improving the Constant Climate contribution from a portfolio of key Regional accounts.
- Provide expertise and insight into the pharmaceutical market within the Europe and UKI including specific shipper ad market
- To work closely with and develop synergy opportunities with the regional sales team, Constant Climate Support Executive & Constant Climate sales team.
- Champion and own the constant climate customer portfolio to drive new revenue and maximise existing revenue and opportunities
What you’ll do
To give context, the UKI & Europe Sales Team is a compact and busy team. It has several home markets in its geographical scope, has a high level of customer contact and it operates in a fast-moving sales environment. This context is reflected in three ways:
- Whilst key accountabilities are role-focused, the role also has support accountability to take on other tasks to ensure customer cover is continuous from time to time.
- Accountabilities will be adaptive to changes in the sales environment.
- The team expects its members to either be in the office or with customers during the normal working hours of our customers, and from time to time there will be activity outside normal working hours.
- Support achievement of Constant Climate Sales Tonnage, QNNR and Yield Targets in line with approved budget plan.
- Champion the product within the region, showing both passion for the vertical & a deep curiosity on the technicalities of cold chain air freight. Take responsibility for driving the Constant Climate product forward in the UK & Ireland regions.
- Ensure excellent customer service is provided.
- Regular communication to all stakeholders about expected Climate shipments in upcoming period, for instance at a daily or weekly period level.
- Monitor key flows and shipments to ensure that all temperature controlled shipments are carried to the regulatory standards.
- Liaise with Specialist Sales Team to ensure bookings meet compliance standards.
- Identify space and agree with Revenue Management to protect for upcoming ad hoc bookings, working in coordination with Climate Reservation Team so that the booking is compliant.
- Complete weekly reporting on key performance metrics, recording achievements and losses.
- Pursue business development opportunities and develop in depth interaction with specified customers if it grows Climate contribution.
- Support implementation of individual customer Regional commercial strategies to deliver the revenue and yield goal at minimum cost
- Support Regional Constant Climate Business Forums & Seminars.
- Support and coordinate production of CAPAs for UKI originating shipments.
- Create and update tariffs and preferential prices using COPS, and communicate with customers.
- Manage Climate customer database.
- Produce regular marketing communications to UKI customers, including new routes and services.
- Host tours of LHR and DUB Climate facility, including New Premia.
- During periods of absence or leave, this role has accountability to support other team tasks within UK and Ireland where required to ensure customer cover is continuous, from time to time

Skills and Experience:
Essential Experience
- Understand budget and financial process and business cases
- Has worked in significant exposure to a revenue-related and commercial environment
- Has worked with sensitive information and has maintained a flawless record in terms of confidentiality
Desirable Experience
- Has experience working in a commercial role with exposure to the UKI or Europe air freight sector
- Has some knowledge of the pharmaceutical sector or previous experience in pharmaceutical airfreight.
